Football NSW has announced that the 2010 McDonald's Champion of Champions competition has now been deferred until Sunday 19th of September 2010 due to Sydney's recent inclement weather. The new updated rounds for the 2010 McDonald's Champion of Champions will now be:

Round 1          19 September
Round 2          26 September
Round 3          10 October
Semi Finals    17 October
FINALS           23/24 October

The Champion of Champions tournament is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the footballing calendar, with champions from each association pitted against each other in a battle for supremacy. The tournament is conducted by Community Football and is the pinnacle of Association based competition from all over the State. The Finals of this tournament are held at Valentine Sports Park.

AGE GROUPS:  Boys/Men: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 0/35, AA Men. Association Representative Over 45 Men. Girls/Ladies: 12, 14, 16, 18, AA Ladies.

Golden Anniversary

John Overton with his Australian Sports Medal (2000) in 2010Soulmates John and Dorothy Overton celebrate their golden wedding anniversary at theJohn & Dot Overton end of July (2010). They married at St Annes in 1960, had three sons and have been part of the Merrylands/Greystanes community since.  John, 72, commented that he didn't feel any different to when he was 21 and Dorothy, 70, said their relationship was based on understanding. Soulmates.  John is grateful to still be enjoying married life “It’s very good, because at one stage I didn’t think I’d get this (50 years) with my medical problems,” he said.

As GSC's first secretary, John helped establish Greystanes Soccer Club 40 years ago and was awarded an Australian Sports Medal in 2000 for outstanding involvement for over 25 years (pictured in 2010)read more club history
